Happy 2016!

Here at ELG, the year is off to a great start! Our 2nd Annual Community Development Day for educators is on January 23rd (RSVP by Wednesday to join us!), and we are thrilled to have a date for our 10th Anniversary Bash – Thursday, March 31st. Details to follow soon!

We are also starting to turn our attention to other issues in our community. Clinic Director Fiona Yapp  shares her insights  on our Counseling Team’s approach to therapy and well-being, and Mooney Niu , one of our counselors who specializes in adolescent mental health, explores unique issues teens deal with (and shares some parenting tips!).

Our team did some great work in 2015. Read an account by an ELG mom of how Regina Nicolas, one of our most long-term and wonderful therapists, has helped her daughter on her learning journey. Mark McCann, who leads our Life Skills Program, takes us on a blow-by-blow of his day as he runs Shanghai’s only full-time program for young adults with special needs, which has now grown to include seven participants.

Lastly – and this is a good one – we’ve put together the top 10 frequently asked questions on Learning Disabilities we’ve received over the last decade. Our team is always happy to consult and support you with anything related to helping children learn and thrive – get in touch if you’d like to know more!
We wish you a wonderful and warm start of the Year of the Monkey!

We’ve consolidated a decade’s worth of questions about Learning Disabilities into one helpful list. If you work with children, we’re sure you’ve wondered about one or more of these at some point!
